  • Ground School
    A 3 day ground school class will be held at Cushing Feild on April 27, 28, and 29 which will prepare a person for the Sport Pilot Knowledge Test.

    The groundschool will be taught by Jim Sweeney and will go from 8am to 5pm each day, with a 1 hour lunch break. It will be held in the A&M Airsports main hangar. Materials for the class will be furnished. When complete, you will be prepared to take 2 dry run tests. After those are passed, you will be electronically endorsed to take the Sport Pilot Knowledge Test for Weight Shift Control(trike), 3 axis(airplane) or Powered Parachute, at your local FAA authorized testing center.

  • Room for Rent on Cushing Field
    If you're traveling from a distance for ground or flight training, and want to lodge at Cushing, we now offer a room for $20 per night (Sun-Thu) and $40 Friday/Saturday nights. It has total privacy, heating/air-conditioning , a washroom, a desk, wifi, microwave, fridge, and two couches. There is free access to showers on the field as well. Bring your own sleeping bag and pillow and you'll be all set. This room is connected to one of our hangars, and is located right alongside runway 18-36. Please call ahead to be sure the room is available.
  • Ladies First Flight Free
    Women make up about 1% of trike pilots. They also have a large influence on whether or not their husbands participate in the sport. To encourage women, and to assure them of the safety of this sport, we are now offering free intro flights (10 to 20 minutes) to women age 16 and older. These will be given, time permitting and weather permitting. Walk in traffic is welcome; but making a reservation a couple days ahead of time is advisable.
  • New Soarable 103 Trike Now Available
    We are now taking orders for the new Airborne Thermalite with Core Wing . Airborne has combined their hang glider and trike expertise to come up with a cutting edge 103 soarable trike. Among other features, this trike has retractable landing gear, a 4 stroke engine, and is designed with engine off soaring in mind. Please contact us for pricing and more details.
  • 16 Hour Maintenance Course
    For trike pilots who own or plan to own their own Experimental Light Sport Trike, taking and passing this 2 day course will authorize them to perform their own annual inspections on their own ELSA trike. The course will be given by Roy Beisswenger on November 3-4, 2012 and will cost $375 per student. There is a class limit size of 16 students; so registering early is advised.     Insurance has finally become available for Trikes through Falcon Insurance , which is closely associated with EAA.
    This also means that financing is also available through several sources. If this has been standing in the way of your decision to own a trike or form a trike club, it is no longer an obstacle.
